LONDON

1 September 2012

We arrived in London early on Saturday morning. All luggage including bikes arrived safely, easy ride through immigration and customs, and there were wonderful Anne and Alain Swain waiting for us.

The boys loaded the two bike boxes onto the roof of the car, and off we went through the streets of London out to Hackney Wick where the wonderful Gerry Thorpe had brekky waiting for us. (We might have had an unexpected, but enjoyable, detour through Olympic Park, which is only a ten minute walk from Gerry's!????)

Alain and JST put the bikes together, we purchased some sim cards for our phones, packed up our panniers, had a lovely dinner at our favourite local restaurant ( Sardinian food at Su Sazzagoni  in Lauriston Village reached by a lovely stroll through Victoria Park) , walked home and flopped into bed, very very weary.

Alain and John hard at work.

My biggest worry is that I have SO LITTLE luggage. I have never, in all my travels, experienced this worry before!!!!!!!! The only consolations are that a) it will be lighter on the bike, and b) we won't exactly be traveling in the outback if I find I have truly forgotten something important.
